AMPR Adds Red Frog Beach Island Resort to its Client Roster

On Bastimentos Island, in Panama’s Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Red Frog Beach Island Resort showcases nature at its finest, a luxurious resort surrounded by tropical rainforest where sloths, monkeys, birds and red frogs reside. Accessed via a 15-minute water taxi ride through Caribbean mangroves from Bocas Town, the property lets guests swim with sunfish in coral beds, soak in striking Caribbean views, and enjoy a climate that averages 82 degrees year-round in a paradise that sits within a hurricane-free zone.

Arranged around paved and unpaved roads, perfect for walking or exploring with a rented golf cart, the resort echoes the 20 square-mile island itself — lush, populated with unique ecology, fringed by pristine beaches and clear seas where the snorkeling is simply fabulous. A mixture of modern community and natural playground, the sustainable property weaves together an island community that shares socially responsible values and forges a deep connection between nature and people, while reducing the intensity of its environmental footprint. Red Frog Beach Island Resort is committed to preserving 80% of its diverse nature forever, more than 1,500 acres with five miles of Caribbean Sea beachfront, and, notably, the only Green Globe-certified property in Panama to receive accreditation three years in a row. Initiatives include the extensive use of solar panels to generate electricity (20% of the resort’s power needs are met sustainably), areas of fruit planting to provide fresh produce for the island, tracts of reforestation, and projects that uplift local communities.

Visitors will encounter accommodations that range from hotel rooms to lodges and villas, while a beach club, a full spa, a market and marina, and plenty of activities round out the resort’s amenities.

The white sand of Turtle Beach frames La Rosa Beach Club, where an Instagram-worthy waterfall flows into the resort’s infinity pool. Complementing the hypnotic scenery is the beach club’s authentic local cuisine. Nearby, the deep-water marina, on the island’s southwest, experiences a minimal tidal change and is beautified by the Marina Village’s gardens and rainforest. Another rainforest is the setting for thrills at the Bastimentos Sky Zipline Canopy Tour, where guests can clip in and ascend stairways to platforms for zip-lining along the top of the island’s canopy. Here, visitors will experience the rush and freedom of gliding through the air among the treetops as birds, monkeys and other tropical fauna look on. Other activities can be booked through the resort concierge, including boat excursions to enjoy a wide variety of marine life in its natural habitat (dolphin watching is a huge draw),  snorkeling trips, and visits to Playa Estrella (estrella means star), where the starfish are plentiful. And once back at the resort, guests can unwind at El Susurro Spa, seamlessly hidden in a verdant rainforest valley where large morpho butterflies flutter, a river cascading in front of the spa, a soothing murmur that guests can hear during treatments from open-air rooms.
