Rox Resort, Køge, Denmark
Opening November 1, 2025, Rox Resort is a cinematic coastal destination located in Køge, just 30 minutes from Copenhagen. Developed by Swedish hospitality group ESS, the 154-room resort is a bold homage to the golden age of travel, where interiors recall the elegance of the 1920s and ’30s—dark wood, burnished brass, mirrored surfaces, and tactile materials layered with both drama and restraint.
The resort’s design concept was envisioned by Spik Studios, the in-house creative arm of ESS Group, founded and majority-owned by the hospitality company. Based within ESS’s own offices, Spik Studios is behind the interior and experiential storytelling of the group’s most distinctive destinations—including Fýri Resort in Hemsedal, Jacy’z in Gothenburg, Maryhill Estate in Skåne, and now Rox Resort in Køge. At Rox, Spik has crafted a refined visual language that reflects the meeting point of East and West, combining Danish minimalism with the romance of Hong Kong’s 1930s harbors.
The resort features two standout restaurants: R.H. SMITH, home to The Dirty Sichuan, a continental steakhouse where British fare meets the bold, layered heat of Sichuan cuisine; and The Dumpling Bar, offering casual, elevated bites in a relaxed poolside setting. Five bars span the property—from the rooftop Pool Bar to Birdcage, the Lobby Bar, an outdoor terrace, and a hidden bar inside the Fire Room.
Wellness is central to the Rox experience, with three heated rooftop pools (including one indoors), a full-service spa, and a state-of-the-art fitness club. The resort also offers nine meeting rooms, two padel courts, a five-a-side football field, golf simulators, indoor games, and family-friendly spaces designed for both relaxation and connection.
Beyond the resort, guests can explore Denmark’s cultural and natural beauty with curated day trips to UNESCO-listed Stevns Klint, the Viking Ship Museum, the Forest Tower, Køge Mini Village, and local microbreweries. Mercedes rentals and bespoke experiences are available through the concierge team.
