Dubai
Merging heritage, culture and tradition with contemporary art and design, XVA Gallery and Art Hotel is tucked into Dubai’s historic Al Fahidi Neighborhood, formerly named Bastakiya, Dubai’s oldest area and a former prominent trader’s settlement on the most colorful and soulful Dubai Creek. The historic, listed building was designed by owner/operator and celebrated art curator Mona Hauser, and maintains all standards set by the heritage department and Dubai Culture. Offering 15 individually designed suites and rooms, a vegetarian restaurant, three wind towers, two courtyards, an extensive gallery featuring emerging and established artists, a sultry lounge for its solace-seeking guests, this centrally-located hotspot is the city’s sexiest retreat and best kept secret. Mona’s on-site boutique showcases her global finds from local and international designers and artisans, while her on-site tailor creates one-of-a-kind caftans, scarves and other garments from Mona’s extensive textile collection.
